What happens when a mother refuses to accept a broken system?
For Sophie Dow, the answer was to change it.
EICC Live are delighted to host an evening with Sophie Dow – founder of Mindroom and author of internationally acclaimed ‘When Life Doesn’t Follow The Script’.
Mindroom -inspired by Sophie’s daughter Annie and founded 25 years ago -is a Scottish charity that champions all forms of neurodiversity and supports all kinds of minds.
Join us to hear Sophie read from her book, described as ‘an inspiring, personal detective drama in which Sophie Dow – with humour, passion and unexpected support from an Oscar winning director as well as at least two royal families- seeks answers to the question: Why aren’t all minds valued equally?’
Sophie will be in conversation with former BBC journalist Clare English for an evening of insightful reflections on how far our understanding of neurodiversity has come, on what happens when life doesn’t follow the script, on how she got the Oscar winning director involved, and how to make damn sure that no mind is left behind.
Following the event, Sophie will be signing copies of When Life Doesn't Follow the Script. Guests can purchase a limited-edition copy for £14.99 and have it personally signed on the evening, with all proceeds supporting Mindroom.
Attendees are invited to stay for drinks and light refreshments, providing an opportunity to meet Sophie and continue the conversation.
