Join EICC Live, in partnership with the David Hume Institute and The Open University, for an anniversary screening of Ken Loach’s Cathy Come
First broadcast in November 1966, it reached 16 million people, a quarter of the UK population at the time.
The landmark drama features a young working-class couple, Cathy and Reg, as they start married life full of hope, but a workplace injury and rising rents tip them into a downward spiral through Britain's housing system.
The panel will be chaired by BBC journalist, Clare English and joined by SallyAnn Kelly of Shelter Scotland and Gerry Mooney, Emeritus Professor of Scottish Society and Social Welfare at The Open University.
SallyAnn is an independent consultant and former Chief Executive of Aberlour Children’s Charity.
