The Corn Exchange is a unique, multi-purpose events venue. Our doors first opened in 1910 and over the next 100 years or so we have always been the centre of activity in this area of Edinburgh. Originally a trading room, farmers would trade across the road at the auction house, they would then come to the Baron Suite next Door and would have lunch and discuss deals, it was probably one of the first parts of Edinburgh where hospitality was born. Farmers concluding a deal over a fish and chips.
Last year for the 13th consecutive year we will have hosted the largest Art Fair in the UK outside of London, The largest Yarn-exclusive Festival ever known, the 10th annual tattoo festival, coffee festival, Gin Festival, the Scottish Real Ale Festival and not to mention the Prosecco Festival. The Corn Exchange is the “Festivals” Venue. We also host the odd concert…. 300 gigs and counting in one of Edinburgh’s largest standing venues. Bands from Coldplay to Madness. The Foo Fighters to Basement Jaxx. Faith No More to Faithless. We have hosted some of the coolest nights in Edinburgh’s recently and plan to carry on doing so.
We are a family business. This is fundamental to our ethos as a venue. This is the same when we welcome Prime Ministers and First Ministers. Pop princesses and Royal Princesses. From Brit-pop battlers Oasis and Blur to International superstars Justin Timberlake and Beyonce.
