A radio may be issued to you and would be collected from Security Control on Level -2, upon arrival of your shift. The radio should be operated on Channel 2 throughout your shift for communications with other Technicians / Control Rooms / Stage Managers.

The Technical Planner for your event will remain on Channel 1 throughout the day, as this is the operations channel for the rest of the EICC team. If you are the last technician in the building, please switch to Channel 1 and respond to any Echo 1 calls. Please ensure that you return and sign out your radio at the end of your shift so that the battery can be sufficiently recharged.

When communicating on the radio please keep all transmissions short and clear. Wait for a moment after pressing the button before speaking to ensure your whole message is heard.

When speaking on a radio you should assume anyone else, including a client, may be able to hear your message.
