Speaker Biographies

Kevin O'Sullivan 

Editor – FutureScot

Kevin has been a journalist for over 15 years, starting at local newspapers and a press agency before moving to Scotland in 2010, where he worked for the Sun and Daily Express.
He then worked as a political correspondent at the Scottish Parliament before finding a new berth covering news in the public sector technology market for FutureScot. Kevin edits the online and print titles, writes a weekly newsletter and programmes content for FutureScot conferences, including Digital Scotland. He has a passion for storytelling and believes that effective engagement with the media is the best way to share ideas and inspire change.


Robbie McGhee

Deputy Director, Digital Connectivity - The Scottish Government

Robbie has been Head of the Digital Connectivity Division in the Scottish Government since 2018, leading the delivery of a number of flagship infrastructure projects that are enhancing Scotland’s digital infrastructure and extending access to connectivity.  Robbie has worked in several roles across Scottish Government – previously managing European Structural Funds programmes and helping to set up SPRUCE, the first investment fund specifically established to support urban development and regeneration activity in Scotland.


Sarah Eynon 

Infralink Programme Lead - Scottish Futures Trust

Sarah was a commercial lawyer for over 10 years before applying her management, problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills to digital infrastructure. Having previously focused on broadband deployment, she is now harnessing the collective knowledge on 5G to deliver projects that accelerate the deployment and application of 5G in Scotland. 


Anne McLister

Head of Digital Economy - Glasgow City Council

Anne is Head of Digital Economy in Glasgow City Council and is focused on ensuring Glasgow is competitively placed digitally to embrace opportunities and confront challenges in the City.  This includes attracting and encouraging investment in digital infrastructure as well as working with City partners to enhance and grow digital skills, improve the digital maturity of Glasgow’s businesses, support the already flourishing tech sector in the City, and increase the digital participation of our citizens in economic, civic and social life.
Previous roles in the Council include the City Deal Programme and Programme Manager for the development of the Glasgow Operations Centre as part of the Future City Demonstrator.
Graduating from Heriot Watt University with a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, she started her career in PA Consulting Group working throughout the UK and Europe with finance, oil and gas and public sector clients. She moved to Luxembourg, working for a Eurobond clearing house before returning to London and, subsequently, Glasgow working in both financial services and Scottish Enterprise.



Elaine Doherty

Regional Lead – Scotland & North East – CityFibre

Elaine Doherty is a high energy business growth specialist with over 25 years’ experience at senior and C-level. Elaine began her career in telecoms and was the driving force behind winning multi-million-pound deals in Media and Finance sectors with Scotland delivering some of Scotland’s first internet services for businesses. She went on to manage the $7.5bn Global rollout of Lucent’s 2.5 and 3G mobile networks then leading the development and delivery of over 9million leading mobile Motorola handsets into European Operators.
Elaine has been instrumental in the growth and acquisition of several software businesses including a 300% increase in revenues at SurfKitchen mobile apps. Elaine has spearheaded blue-chip projects for Alcatel Lucent & Logica and prior to joining CityFibre reinvigorated the fortunes of Tourism Company Rabbie’s Trail burners increasing turnover by almost 60% in 18 months through creation and delivery of a digital transformation programme.
Elaine is a STEM ambassador. She sits on the board of an arts charity and social enterprise, Out of the Blue. Elaine is a member of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Governing Council. Elaine is a member of the Edinburgh Development forum.
